The conference is the annual Youth Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Project (YADAPP) held at Longwood University. The rising 9th-12th graders spend a week with other youth their age from the state of Virginia. Together they'll take part in workshops where they will hear inspirational messages from other young leaders, and develop a strategic plan to implement in their schools and the Hanover County community when they return from the conference.
The youth who have attended previous YADAPP conferences return with stronger commitments to their own sobriety, and a passion for sharing messages of healthy choices to their classmates and community. If you are interested in attending the conference, or know of someone who might be a good fit, share this information with them. You can read more about the experience and apply online at the Hanover Cares YADAPP page:
