This event is for parents, grandparents, caregivers, and any adults who work with or care about young people.

A replica of a teenager’s bedroom will be on display for participants to browse and observe. The setup shows where and how teens might hide drugs or paraphernalia and highlights everyday items that, while seemingly innocent, could signal a substance use problem.

Attending will help you recognize warning signs, be more proactive in supporting a young person who may be using substances, and learn ways to prevent youth from starting. You’ll also receive parent engagement strategies, conversation starters, and practical tips for talking with teens.

Hosted by Hanover Cares and the Teens Care Too Coalition, made up of middle and high school students committed to educating peers and families, this event is the result of a partnership with community organizations, including the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Hanover County Public Schools, and Hanover Community Services.
