The Hanover Opioid Taskforce was formed to address critical issues and emerging trends related to opioids, stimulants, and other substances. One of the ongoing projects that came from this group was the development of the 'You Are Worthy' bags. These bags are filled with mental health and substance use resources. In collaboration with the Community Services Board, Ashland Police Department, Hanover Sheriff's Office, and Hanover Fire/EMS these bags are given out when they respond to an emergency.

SDA is available to Hanover residents seeking: mental health, substance use (including medication assisted treatment) or developmental services.Individuals will speak with a staff member face- to-face.

Following eligibility & initial screenings, they will receive a comprehensive clinical assessment that same day to better determine the most appropriate services.

For those eligible for CSB services/programs, an initial treatment appointment will be scheduled (or offered).

According to the CDC, Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. It is a major contributor to fatal and nonfatal overdoses in the U.S.

The Health Department offers walk-in hours for Naloxone. See locations for training and distribution on the flyer. The community can also call the REACH line at 804-365-3240 to set up a full training or rapid revive at community events.
